Sunshine Request

The City of Clever believes in openness in local government and to that cause makes its records available for inspection by the public to the fullest extent possible. However, some records may not be deemed Public Records  and therefore would hold an exception as defined in Missouri's Sunshine Law, RSMo 610*

To ensure prompt access to the records you are requesting, you are asked to complete the form below which will be electronically transmitted to the City Clerks Office. The City will act upon your request as soon as possible. Your request may be subject to delays for reasonable cause or may be denied, in whole or part, under Sunshine Law as closed records, which you will be notified promptly.

*“Public record” is defined as:…any record, whether written or electronically stored, retained by or of any public governmental body including any report, survey, memorandum, or other document or study prepared for the public governmental body by a consultant or other professional service paid for a whole or in part by public funds, including records created or maintained by private contractors under an agreement with a public governmental body or on behalf of a public governmental body. The term “pub record” shall not include any internal deliberative decision making process of said body, unless such records are retained by the public governmental body presented at a public meeting. Any document or study prepared for a public governmental body by a consultant or other professional service as described in this subdivision shall be retained by a public governmental body in the same manner as any other public record…” RSMo 610.010(6)

Sunshine Request formAll requests for City records must be submitted either in writing or via this online form. The City will make every effort to begin research on the requested information within 3 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Requests involving extensive research may take longer periods of time to complete. You will be provided a time and date when the records will be available. Fees for copying records will be 10 cents per page for paper copies not larger than 9"x14", in addition to a standard hourly rate. Research time required for fulfilling the records request will be charged at the actual cost of the research time.
